Come to our workshops – 7pm Thursdays May 26/Jun 2 at Shevchenko Museum (on Bloor just west of Dundas West); and Saturday 10:30 am May 28 at MusiCamp’s backyard. Dancing In All Directions Dance Workshop – blending urban & indigenous dance movements to connect mind, body, spirit & emotion.

Fine tune your moves with a lead-up workshop at Lula Lounge Monday May 30 7-8 pm.

3:00 pm West African Drum Workshop:

With Master Drummer Amadou Kienou!! We’ll have drums but feel free to bring your own. Last time someone joined in from their balcony in the neighbouring apartment building!

MusiCamp, The Dundas West Festival and Lula Lounge present:

A FREE FAMILY DANCE WORKSHOP SERIES,

culminating into a community performance piece facilitated by “THE GRACES”, a mother & daughter interdisciplinary performance team

PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES WILL LEARN A DANCE ROUTINE BLENDING BASIC POW WOW STEPS, BREAK DANCE, CAPOEIRA, AND METIS JIGGING.

THE GRACES are Rosalind and Otayo Grace: a Mother Daughter Interdisciplinary performance team, who use poetry, dance and vocables (sound) to tell real life stories.

It’s time to start thinking of summer and I’m remembering the great time we had at the Dundas West Fest last couple of years!

We’re super excited with MusiCamp’s stage, the talented youth that will perform, the FREE West African Drumming Workshop 1:25-2:30 and the FREE Community Dance workshops series culminating in a workshop-performance demonstration at 12pm!
